Summary

In an alternate 19th-century England, magic is largely forgotten. Mr. Norrell, a reclusive magician, seeks to revive English magic. He enters into a partnership with the Raven King, a legendary figure in magic. Jonathan Strange, a young and ambitious magician, becomes Norrell's pupil.
